Varun Dhawan’s Tweet Praising Remo D’Souza’s Dance Reality Show Backfires!
Judwaa 2 actor Varun Dhawan, who was appointed as the brand ambassador of Sony SAB last month, deletes post appreciating Remo D’Souza’s Dance Plus 3 which airs on rival channel
That Varun Dhawan
is passionate about dance is no news. The actor is a skilled dancer and his
moves in ABCD 2 are proof.

However, an
innocent tweet from the actor appreciating the film’s director, Remo D’Souza’s
show, Dance + 3 landed him in trouble.
It so happened
that Shah Rukh Khan recently visited the set of Dance Plus 3 to promote Jab
Harry Met Sejal. The episode saw the superstar walk down memory lane, with
heartfelt tributes from Remo and his team.

Evidently touched
by the episode, Varun took to Twitter to share a post about the show. He wrote,
“Dance Plus definitely has the best live dance acts on TV.Superb (sic).”
Sweet. Isn’t it?
However, fans
were surprised to see that the actor deleted the tweet an hour later. Reason?
Reports suggest that since Varun is the brand ambassador of a Sony SAB, the
actor got pulled up for praising the dance show hosted by Star, which is a
rival channel and hence had to let go off the tweet.
It is said that
while Varun did it with honest intentions, out of sheer love for Remo, he
didn’t think about the consequences. The step evidently didn’t go down well
with Sony.
Furthermore, the
young star recently made headlines when he voiced his opinion on piracy. He
tweeted, “Piracy is a serious problem which is killing our film industry. Guys
please do not support piracy watch films only in the theatre.”

The tweet was in
context to Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar’s upcoming film, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha
being leaked online. Once, the issue was sorted, Akshay took to social media to thank the Crime Branch for
their swift action in the case and also urged his industry friends to come
forward and spread a message against piracy.
